Mad Imports is a trailblazing company, bringing you eclectic handmade accessories inspired by the island of Madagascar. The collection blends innovative design ideas, candy colors and renewable natural fibers such as sisal, penjy reed and banana tree bark, making their handmade products truly one-of-a-kind. Mad Imports is sweatshop-free, fair-trade company whose sales benefit Malagasy communities. Currently, Mad Imports funds the education of the children of their weaver partners and works closely with the Akany Avoko orphanage to provide educational materials, operational funding, and support for special projects. Mad Imports has also developed a partnership with a community of women in Kenya, supporting their micro-enterprise and funding community development initiatives. They continue to work closely with their artisan partners to generate sustainable economic development opportunities, provide venues for artistic expression, and stimulate cross-cultural exchange.
