Grace & Cello is a small company where a few people work to contribute to a more interesting vision of the world. Most of us here have degrees in the environmental and conservation sciences, and we continue to spend most of our free time doing nerdy nature activities. Because of this passion, we try our damnedest to live and do business in a sustainable manner. This means using organic fabrics such as cotton and wool, or other materials such as bamboo and lyocell that can be grown without soaking the landscape in chemical residues. We also live close to where our clothes are being cut and sewn in Montreal, and so we are able to interact with our workers regularly, allowing us to confidently assure our customers that our garments are sweatshop-free. And then there is the design: it is lovely, elegant and sexy. We enjoy feeling beautiful and see no reason why being ethical need get in the way of that.
