Jade Yoga is committed to making the best performing, most environmentally friendly yoga products on the market. Jade has resisted the temptation to move production to China, where almost all other yoga mats are made today, because of incidents like the 2005 chemical spill into the Songhua River and subsequent government cover-up. While dollar costs may be lower with mats made in China, Jade believes it is just not worth it. Jade also decided to thank the trees from which its mats are born, committing to plant a tree for every mat sold by partnering with Trees for the Future. Our mats themselves are green too, though that might be described as an accident: we initially chose to use natural rubber in our mats simply because it performs so much better than synthetic rubber (PVC, PER, TPE, EVA).
