Linda and Chrys Wong, the duo behind The Battalion, balance the ideas of their fashion-forward aesthetic with functionality. Linda is an Otis graduate and an accomplished designer who helped launch Chan Luu’s multi-million dollar ready-to-wear line. Chrys is a ten-year retail veteran who has worked at stores such as Maxfield and Barneys New York, developing a keen sense for trends. After much searching for the perfect jersey fabric, Chrys and Linda discovered that, using new technology, bamboo fiber can be spun into fabric that is soft, strong, and versatile. Bamboo is also a sustainable crop that generates rapidly and is completely biodegradable. Bamboo clothing is not only better for the environment, but also has unique odor-killing and cooling properties that will ultimately be better for the customer. The marketplace has taken notice of The Battalion since its debut. The collection is beginning to build a celebrity fan base including Lucy Liu and Mandy Moore, and has been picked up by some of the best retailers in L.A. including Diavolina and Pixie Market.
